Network Hardware Resale Earns TL 9000 Recertification For Maintaining Stringent Industry Standards and Business Best Practices
Quality Management System Requires Robust Operational Control Worldwide
Santa Barbara, Calif. ─ May 2, 2011 ─ Network Hardware Resale (NHR), the leading provider of pre-owned and new networking equipment, today announced it has once again received TL 9000 certification for its ongoing focus on operational excellence. NHR was awarded recertification for the third consecutive year.
TL9000 is a comprehensive quality management system that requires certified organizations to have a series of robust controls in every applicable operational department. NHR first achieved TL9000 certification in April 2008 in the TL service provider category. TL 9000 defines stringent requirements for the design, development, production, delivery, installation and maintenance of products and services.
"Maintaining our TL9000 certification worldwide is a top priority. It underscores our intense focus on operational and customer service excellence," said Caroline Thompson, vice president of operations for Network Hardware Resale. "It’s affirming to be recognized for our ongoing efforts to raise the bar for quality equipment procurement and network services in the secondary market."
NHR uses a sophisticated Spirent test-bed to perform full line-rate and network load testing on 99 percent of its product family, which is highly unique in the secondary market. As a result, NHR consistently achieves less than 0.5 percent equipment failure rates, which are far below OEM averages for new equipment. In 2011, NHR projects the on-time delivery of more than 250,000 fully tested products and configured systems with an estimated value of over $200 million.
Additionally, NHR continues to streamline its order processing, warehouse workflow and material handling capabilities. The company’s focus on fundamentals and quality execution includes accurate order configuration to system testing. It extends to every detail including Electrostatic Discharge Sensitivity (ESDS). Precautions and protocols reside at each global distribution center to prevent static electricity buildup, which can prove detrimental to electronic devices. NHR also closely monitors customer requirements and tailors its procurement processes to provide value-added processing and efficient customer response to all requests.
NHR maintained its ISO 9001:2000 certification as part of its TL 9000 recertification. The governing body for the TL9000 process is the Quality of Excellence for Suppliers of Telecommunications (QuEST) Forum, a global communications association formed in 1998 that consists of industry providers and suppliers dedicated to continually improving products and services. NHR provides its 10,000 customers worldwide with the assurance that products, processes and procedures meet the most rigorous standards set forth for the telecommunications industry worldwide.
