Increased APAC presence follows NHR’s 58 percent in-region sales increase for 2006
Santa Barbara, Calif. ─ June 18, 2007 ─ Network Hardware Resale (NHR), the leading provider of pre-owned and new networking equipment, today announced the opening of its newest office, in Singapore, to provide greater levels of service and support throughout the entire Asia-Pacific region. The move further reinforces NHR’s global expansion plans and growing international sales, which made up 26 percent of total sales in 2006, bolstered by a 58 percent increase in Asia-Pacific markets.
The Singapore location will serve as a centralized APAC hub for NHR’s sales and technical support of high-performance, pre-owned network routers, switches, access servers and IP telephony equipment from leading manufacturers including Cisco, Extreme and Juniper. The location also provides a complete portfolio of asset recovery, network fulfillment, disaster recovery, testing and sparing services. Additionally, through its global partnership with Dell Networking, NHR will provide new Dell Networking Gigabit and 10-Gigabit Ethernet switching and routing solutions.
According to Mike Sheldon, president and CEO of Network Hardware Resale, the Singapore office represents the latest step in the company’s aggressive international expansion. “NHR’s ability to expedite the delivery of fully tested pre-owned networking gear while saving customers up to 90 percent off OEM list prices continues to fuel our global growth,” he said. “By opening a location in Singapore, we can accelerate our momentum throughout APAC while ensuring the delivery of top-notch services and support to customers in that region.”
NHR’s Singapore operation will be headed by Glenn Fassett, a long-time company executive. Previously NHR’s general manager in Europe, he now serves as the company’s general manager, Asia-Pacific. Fassett joined the company in 1996. He worked for six years in sales and sales management roles before being chosen to spearhead NHR’s international expansion with the opening of the company’s European headquarters in Amsterdam.
“Glenn’s experience and outstanding track record in the international market makes him the perfect choice to reinforce NHR’s presence abroad,” said Sheldon. “He understands the unique needs and buying patterns of organizations outside the U.S. and responds quickly to changing customer needs to instill the service-driven culture that defines NHR worldwide.”
The markets served by the new Asia-Pacific location include Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, South Korea, China, India, Japan, Indonesia and Vietnam. “I’m thrilled to be at the forefront of NHR’s official entrance into the Asia-Pacific market,” said Fassett. “Singapore is an ideal choice for our APAC headquarters with its centralized location, talented workforce and excellent quality of life. NHR has selected an office with 11,500 square feet, including a 5,000 square-foot warehouse to support its burgeoning business in the region. The company currently is recruiting experienced sales, finance and administration personnel, Cisco-trained technicians along with operations and marketing staffers.
Founded in 1986, NHR continues to expand its product portfolio along with its global operations. The company maintains an extensive inventory of pre-owned Cisco, Juniper and Extreme equipment. In September 2006, NHR also entered into an asset recovery and reseller agreement with Dell Networking to accelerate the deployment of high-performance, scalable networks.
