Cisco Routers 7200-7600

The 7200, UBR7200, and 7600 series routers support a wide range of use cases with superior scalability and performance. This universal services aggregation router is for enterprise and service provider edge applications.

Cisco 7200 Series

The 7200 series is the industry’s most widely deployed universal services router, offering:

  • NPE-G2 Network Processing Engine aggregates services at up to 2 Mpps
  • A range of connectivity options and features, including manageability and serviceability
  • Increased VPN performance with the VPN Services Adapter
  • Increased scalability and flexibility with the Port Adapter Jacket Card

Benefits:

  • WAN edge: Award-winning quality of service (QoS) feature performance
  • Broadband aggregation: Up to 16,000 PPP sessions per chassis
  • Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS): Leading choice for provider-edge deployment
  • IP Security (IPsec) VPN: Scalable to 5000 tunnels per chassis
  • High-end customer premises equipment (CPE)
  • IP-to-IP gateway support: Provides a network-to-network interface point for signaling interworking (H.323, SIP), media interworking, address and port translations (privacy and topology hiding), billing and CDR normalization, and bandwidth management (QoS marking using TOS)
  • Voice, video, and data integration: TDM-enabled VXR chassis and voice port adapters
  • Modular design: 3RU footprint with broad range of flexible, modular interfaces (from DS0 to OC-3)
  • Flexibility: Support for Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, Packet over SONET and moreCisco 7600 Series Routers

Deploy high-performance IP/MPLS features as well as scalable personalized IP services at the network edge, improve operational efficiency, and maximize return on network investments with the Cisco 7600 Series Router.

High-performance with up to 720 Gbps in a single chassis, or 40 Gbps capacity per slot

A choice of form factors purpose-built for high availability

Cisco I-Flex design: A portfolio of shared port adapters (SPAs) and SPA interface processors (SIPs) that controls voice, video, and data experiences

Scalable and extensible suite of hardware and software capabilities to enable intelligent Carrier Ethernet services

Integrated Video Call Admission Control with innovative visual quality of experience for both broadcast and video on demand (VoD)

Intelligent Services Gateway, providing scalable subscriber and application awareness with multidimensional identity capabilities and policy controls

Integrated Session Border Control with quality of experience in both Session Initiated Protocol (SIP) and non-SIP applications

Cisco 7600 Series

The Cisco 7600 Series is one the first first carrier-class edge routers in the industry to offer ultra high-density and integrated Ethernet switching, 10-Gbps interfaces, and carrier-class IP/MPLS routing. This router was an advantage to enterprises and enabled service providers to deliver business and consumer services in a single converged Carrier Ethernet network.

Important Features:

  • High performance, with up to 720 Gbps in a single chassis, or 40 Gbps capacity per slot
  • A choice of form factors purpose-built for high availability
  • A portfolio of shared port adapters (SPAs) and SPA interface processors (SIPs) that controls voice, video, and data experiences
  • Intelligent Services Gateway, providing scalable subscriber and application awareness with multidimensional identity capabilities and policy controls
  • Integrated Session Border Control with quality of experience in both Session Initiated Protocol (SIP) and non-SIP applications
    3, 4, 6, 9 and 13 Slot Chassis
  • Redundant supervisors and power supplies

Applications:

  • Carrier Ethernet: Aggregation of consumer and business service

  • Wireless mesh networking and mobility service convergence
  • IP/MPLS provider edge routing
  • Enterprise WAN aggregation
  • Headquarters core routing

Cisco uBR7200 Series Universal Broadband Routers

The Cisco uBR7246VXR supports dual current-sharing power supplies and online insertion and removal (OIR) so that interfaces can be added, removed, or replaced without service interruption. A PC flash memory card enhances reliability by storing backup software images and configuration files. Environmental monitors have levels of escalation so operators can take corrective action prior to any system shutdown. All components are replaceable in the field.

Each Cisco uBR7246VXR supports up to four Cisco cable line cards, each with one or two downstream and six or eight upstream cable interfaces, which brings it to a total of up to eight downstream and 32 upstream interfaces in a chassis.

  • Additional revenues with advanced IP services
  • Increased customer satisfaction with field-proven high availability
  • Reduced operational expenses with DPT backhaul resiliency
  • Enhanced revenues with Layer 3 features designed specifically to support voice and commercial services
  • Reduced operational expenses with industry-leading network management tools

Modular scalability:

  • Highest density per seven-foot rack, with forward-compatible cable line cards and a wide variety of network interfaces
  • Only platform with family of field-installable processor upgrades
  • Highest reliability
  • Demonstrated mean time between failure (MTBF) beyond Packet Cable requirements
  • Field-proven reliability with more than 275,000 upstream ports deployed worldwide
  • Proven investment protection
  • Qualified to PacketCable 1.1 and 1.0, DOCSIS 1.1 and 1.0 qualified, as well as Euro-DOCSIS 2.0, 1.1, and 1.0. Full DOCSIS3.0 and Euro-DOCSIS3.0 compliant
