HPE Nimble

HPE Nimble has three different families of arrays: All Flash, Adaptive Flash and Secondary Flash.

All Flash combines flash efficient architecture with HPE InfoSight predictive analytics to achieve fast reliable access to data. All Flash arrays provide predictive analytics, simplicity, absolute resiliency, speed and reliability.

Adaptive Flash arrays are like having two flash arrays in one, since the array is designed for both primary and secondary flash workloads. It is a hybrid flash array for mixed, primary workloads where cost-efficient flash performance is important. It can also serve as a secondary flash array for backup and disaster recovery. Adaptive offers Flash performance for mixed and mainstream workloads, plus speed and availability.

  • 14TB – 4,075TB effective capacity [assumes 5:1 data reduction from deduplication and compression]
  • Drives: SATA SSDs: 240GB, 480GB, 960GB, 1.92TB, 3.84TB

Adaptive Flash Arrays

  • 11TB – 1,260TB raw capacity
  • 7TB – 1,016TB usable capacity
  • 34TB – 5,080TB effective capacity [assumes 5:1 data reduction from compression]
  • 126TB to 18,288TB effective capacity [assumes 18:1 data reduction from deduplication and compression for backup and DR workloads]

Secondary Flash Arrays

Between the SF100 and the SF300 models, the capacities can scale as follows from minimum to maximum, and the maximum includes 2 expansion shelves with 6TB drives.

  • 21TB – 462TB raw capacity
  • 16TB-371TB usable capacity
  • 48TB-6.60PB effective capacity [compression ration can vary depending on the type of data and O/S]
