Network Hardware Resale Awarded ‘Company of the Year’ at 16th Annual South Coast Business & Technology Awards

NHR Recognized for Long-Standing Business Success & Contributions to Local Community

Santa Barbara, Calif. ─ June 7, 2010 ─ Network Hardware Resale (NHR), the leading provider of pre-owned and new networking equipment, has been awarded “Company of the Year” honors during the 16th annual South Coast Business & Technology Awards.

The event, which gathered approximately 700 local business executives and entrepreneurs, was held at Fess Parker’s Doubletree Resort on June 3rd. The festivities, which benefit the Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara, paid tribute to five individuals or businesses for achieving high levels of success while contributing greatly to their community.

Mike Sheldon, president and CEO of Network Hardware Resale, accepted the award on behalf of the company that was founded in the area in 1986. “Network Hardware Resale is tremendously honored to participate in this prestigious event and receive recognition for our continuing commitment to business excellence,” said Sheldon. “It’s gratifying to join other leading organizations and business leaders to applaud outstanding accomplishments in our community while helping local students attain their higher-education goals.”

NHR has maintained strong ties within the community. Of the company’s 270 employees worldwide, about half of them work at its Santa Barbara headquarters and many graduated from UCSB, Westmont College, Santa Barbara City College or other nearby schools. Since its founding, the South Coast Business & Technology Awards gala has raised more than $1.1 million for scholarships to assist local students majoring in business or technology at one of these schools.

The awardees were chosen by a steering committee made up of local community and business leaders as well as past honorees. “It is an honor to be in the company of so many bright and distinguished business leaders,” said Jeff Carmody, co-chairman of the steering committee. “Each of our honorees has been blessed with talent and each has used their talent to the fullest.”
