Network Hardware Resale Names Jerry Gross SVP of Enterprise Services

Accomplished Technology Industry Veteran Joins Fast-Growth Leader in the Secondary Market to Deliver Expanded Network Support Services

Santa Barbara, Calif. ─ May 4, 2011 ─ Network Hardware Resale (NHR), the leading provider of pre-owned and new networking solutions, today announced the appointment of Jeremy “Jerry” Gross as senior vice president of enterprise services. In this newly created position, Gross will be responsible for leading the global services organization that encompasses business development, product management, technical support and managed network services.

“We are excited about adding Jerry to NHR’s executive team, especially given his global track record of aligning technology and business goals to drive significant organizational value,” said Mike Sheldon, president and CEO of Network Hardware Resale. “Now more than ever, our customers are seeking more economical and effective network services and support options, which we’ll be uniquely positioned to expand upon with Jerry’s leadership and technology vision.”

Gross brings a wealth of experience to his role at NHR, including major success in streamlining and improving complex data center, network and IT services for global leaders, including McKesson Corporation, Washington Mutual and Intuit Corporation. As CIO at WaMu, Gross was instrumental in converting the financial institution’s IT organization into a services-driven model while deploying a MPLS network that reduced operating costs and improved network uptime to support dramatic business growth.

As CTO at McKesson, Gross consolidated IT and workplace services into an integrated, serviceoriented division by taking advantage of server virtualization, storage automation, lifecycle management and a self-service IT storefront that resulted in substantial costs savings and streamlined service levels. As senior VP of product management and engineering at Intuit, Gross helped design, build and implement TurboTax, the largest IRS e-filing application and hosting environment by leveraging on-demand infrastructure as a service and real-time network monitoring, enabling the company to effectively manage massive spikes in peak network volume demands.

“Today, organizations are spending an inordinate amount of their IT budgets on services, yet they’re still not getting the level of support and value necessary to meet stringent service level agreements,” said Gross “At NHR, we intend to enable our customers by delivering highly responsive, reliable and affordable network support services.”

A native of Australia, Gross holds a bachelor’s of business, accounting and marketing from Monash University in Melbourne. He currently lives in the Malibu area of Los Angeles.
